Wireless Big Data Augmented Smart Industry

The RadioSense project is funded by the Alt Text 2017 call under the topic Big Data and process modelling for Smart Industry (BDSI). The project commenced on February 2019 and will be running for 24 months.

Project Goal

The goal of this project is to develop an adaptive workspace sharing system for dynamic smart industrial environments. Key functionalities required for such systems are localization of multiple subjects, control via intuitive human-robot interfaces, as well as safety guarantee for workers in the workspace. To provide these, we tackle three scientific questions:

  • Device-free Localization: tracking multi-subject activities in industrial environments non-intrusively
  • Device-free Control: recognizing in-air human gestures as control inputs from non-instrumented workers
  • Device-free Safety Guarantee: ensure safety of workers in industrial environments
